Just take a Eurostar train from London to Lille and change to a TGV train to Marseille. The total journey will take just under 7 hours.

Changing trains at Lille Europe when travelling from London to France

When you arrive at Lille Europe:

  1. Head up to the main station concourse and check the departures board. Platforms are normally shown 20 minutes before departure.
  2. Once you’ve found your platform, head back down to platform level.
  3. Allow enough time to hop onto your connecting TGV train – doors close 2 minutes before departure.

Our booking system will have suggested two trains that give you enough time to catch your connection. If you need a hand, staff will be available to help.

Arriving at Marseille Saint-Charles

Your train will arrive at Marseille St Charles station, which is right in the heart of Marseille. As there are no border checks upon arrival, you can simply hop off the train and leave the station. And to get to where you're going, you'll have easy access to the city's buses, trams and metros.

FAQs

When travelling to the south of France, you'll need to use public transport to travel between Paris Gare du Nord and Gare de Lyon when changing trains. The journey takes around 30 minutes.

Here's what to do:

1. When you arrive at Paris Gare du Nord, buy a ticket at a ticket machine or a ticket desk. If the queues are long, you can also buy a ticket using the Île-de-France Mobilités or Bonjour RATP app.
2. Follow signs to RER Line D and board a train towards Melun or Corbeil-Essonnes.
3. Get off the train at Gare de Lyon.
4. Follow signs for the TGV platforms.
5. Board your TGV train to your final destination - boarding starts around 20 minutes before departure and the doors close 2 minutes before.

As we're part of the HOTNAT scheme, rest assured that we'll help you get to your final destination if you miss your connecting train. Speak to a member of staff on your delayed train. Unfortunately, no. In case of a delay on either your Eurostar or TGV INOUI train, you'll be able to hop on the next available train (HOTNAT) at no extra cost. To learn more about HOTNAT, go to our Connections page.
