We won’t be running our Eurostar Sun trains this year. But you can still reach Avignon, Valence, Marseille or Aix-en-Provence by catching a connecting train in Brussels, Lille or Paris. How do I travel from Brussels to Marseille on an indirect train?

Planning a trip to the South of France ? Travel from Brussels to Marseille by high speed train with Eurostar and SNCF TGV INOUI. And you can book the entire journey with us. Just take a Eurostar train from Brussels to Paris and change to a TGV train to Marseille. The total journey will take about 5h41min.

Departing from Brussels Midi

Brussels Midi Station is just a short walk from the city centre and is well connected by the Brussels Métro, tram lines, and a number of bus routes.

When to arrive
Please arrive 20 minutes before departure. Check our recommended arrival times when planning your journey.

Travel documents

You don't need a passport but It's worth bringing an identity document though, as customs do random spot checks from time to time.

Before you jump on your train, you can browse a few shops or grab a drink or food from a café.

Connecting in Paris between Gare du Nord and Gare de Lyon

When travelling to the south of France, you'll need to use public transport to travel between Paris Gare du Nord and Gare de Lyon when changing trains. The journey takes around 30 minutes.

Here's what to do:

1. When you arrive at Paris Gare du Nord, buy a ticket at a ticket machine or a ticket desk. If the queues are long, you can also buy a ticket using the Île-de-France Mobilités or Bonjour RATP app.
2. Follow signs to RER Line D and board a train towards Melun or Corbeil-Essonnes.
3. Get off the train at Gare de Lyon.
4. Follow signs for the TGV platforms.
5. Board your TGV train to your final destination - boarding starts around 20 minutes before departure and the doors close 2 minutes before.

Arriving at Marseille Saint-Charles

Your train will arrive at Marseille St Charles station, which is right in the heart of Marseille. As there are no border checks upon arrival, you can simply hop off the train and leave the station. And to get to where you're going, you'll have easy access to the city's buses, trams and metros.
