Trains from London to Lyon
Travel from London to Lyon and discover the gastronomic capital of France. Although we can’t take you there directly for the foreseeable future, you can still get to Lyon by taking a Eurostar train to Paris or Lille and changing on to a connecting TGV InOui train.
As we’re a member of Railteam, you’ll have the peace of mind that you can benefit from the ‘Hop on the next available train’ feature if you face delays en route. If you miss your TGV InOui connection, you can hop on the next available train with no extra charge.
Take the train to Lyon
Rendez-vous at St Pancras International at the recommended arrival time shown on your ticket for security and passport checks. Once on board, stretch out in our roomy seats and enjoy the view as we whizz you to France.
You’ll need to change train in Paris or Lille onto a direct train to Marseille.
In Paris, it’s a 30-minute transfer from Gare du Nord to Gare de Lyon, direct on RER line D. More information on connecting in Paris.
In Lille, just head up to the departure hall and change platforms. Find more information on how to change trains at Lille Europe.
Arriving at Lyon Part-Dieu or Lyon Perrache stations
TGV trains arrive at Lyon Part-Dieu or Lyon Perrache stations. Just step off the train and straight onto a metro, bus or tram, and start exploring this vibrant, foodie’s paradise.
At some point during your visit, take a break from eating and sightseeing and head to the stunning Musée des Confluences.
On the return journey
Check your ticket to see whether you need to board your TGV train from Lyon Part-Dieu or Lyon Perrache.
You’ll need to go through security and passport control before boarding your Eurostar train at Paris Gare du Nord or Lille-Europe. Please check your ticket for the recommended arrival time so you arrive at our Eurostar stations in plenty of time to go through these checks.
Missed your connection because of a delay or cancellation?
You can hop on the next available train (HOTNAT) when travelling on high-speed services which are part of the Railteam alliance.
